Summer and Scents

“S’mores, salty ocean breezes, veggie burgers on the grill, sweaty people on the bus — what’s the smell you associate the most with summer?” – Daily Prompt

The surroundings are still dark yet the scent of grilled foods splashes along with the air. I sniff. The delicious aroma makes my mouth water. I sniff again. Along with the rustle of things, I can scent the earthy whiff of growing trees. I can’t help, but to smile. I sniff again and this time, the scent of the land along with the sun’s rays that are trapped inside the stone pavements greet my senses. My mind goes full alert and I open my eyes. Light covers my environment and the smile remains on my face. Summer has finally arrived.

  1. summer is actually in its full swing. when you go out on the road and the wind passes your body, the terribly warm wind that makes you think why did u even think of stepping outside.

      1. and its exactly that time when you know that you need to start fasting after three days. so its going to be cherry on the top… extreme summers, long days, burning sun, and fasting 🙂

        your welcome mathew..

  2. When all of outside is a wash of bright yellow sunlight, and the air is heavy with fresh cut grass and the tang of motor oil mixed with gasoline. Ahh summer…let those lawnmowers purr.

let me hold your words before you leave;
